Chemistry-Climate Model Validation Activity for SPARC (CCMVal) |

CCMVal Workshops
The WCRP Open Science Conference has been held in Denver in the last week of October 2011. For SPARC, this meeting in essence replaced the SPARC General Assembly that would have been held in a time period of 3-4 years following the last one in Bologna in 2008. For CCMVal, this meeting replaced the CCMVal 2011 workshop that would have been held in a time period of 2 years following the last one in Toronto in 2009. Unlike the SPARC GAs and CCMVal workshops, this meeting provided the opportunity to develop connections with the tropospheric components of the WCRP and emphasize the couplings between the stratosphere and the rest of the climate system. Therefore the CCMVal community was encouraged to attend the OSC and to submit abstracts for presentations on topics related to SPARC CCMVal activities.

The next CCMVal workshop will be held as part of the 'IGAC / SPARC Global Chemistry-Climate Modeling and Evaluation Workshop'
21-25 May 2012 in Davos, Switzerland (see first announcement here). More information is placed on the workshop website here.
