2. Global distribution
The following maps show the frequency
of occurrence of ISSRs on two pressure levels, 147 hPa, and 215 hPa, projected
onto world maps. The humidity data to obtain these figures stem from the
Microwave Limb Sounder (MLS). The
evaluation procedure and more details can be found in Spichtinger et al.
(2003, QJ paper).
