Background
Quite inherently, transnational cooperation as carried out within the
Interreg IIIB CADSES framework has a double nature:
i) work packages carried through at the partner institutions and
ii) the homogenization of the common knowledge base at dedicated
workshops. It is assumed that the atmosphere at special
locations can have a very positive impact fort the latter part
and, thus, indirectly also influence the former when the
follow-on work is tackled. Accordingly the baroque Fürstensaal
of the monastery Andechs in the vicinity of the
DLR-Oberpfaffenhofen near Munich was chosen as the venue for
the 5th RISK-AWARE project meeting.
Judging from the opinions expressed by the workshop participants from four countries the spiritus loci of Andechs had an immediate impact. The future will tell whether the effect will last until the final RISK-AWARE conference scheduled for the autumn or even to the project end ....
