- Last but not least: Gudmund's view of world tonight: Newsletter No 9
- due to the successful laser repair today, we are fully operational on Saturday;
- I worked on the webpage today and brought up some quicklooks from our recent flights
- But Christian also had to work and got instructions from Reinhold how to release dropsondes and how to submit the few lines of ASCII code to the GTS
- HAPPY BIRTHDAY Christian! Although it is just his 8th birthday he is quite mature and invited us all to a nice evening party which was crowned by a beautiful display of aurora borealis!
- 08:00 LT Axel, Andreas, Rudi and Wolfi take off for the airport to fix the laser; later Alex joined them; they are working hard for about 12 hours and could finally repair the instruments; I'm impressed by this motivation and endurance of all! Also, Rudi's yesterday's diagnosis at dinner was right: congratulations!!
