TAC-2 is an international conference taking place in Aachen and Maastricht
from 22-25 June 2009. It is jointly organised by the Institute of
Atmospheric Physics at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the
Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI).
The conference covers all aspects of the impact of the different modes
of transport (aviation, road transport, shipping etc.) on atmospheric
chemistry, microphysics, radiation and climate.
Because of the global relevance of the conference themes, experts from
all over the world will be present.
In the first part of the policymaker event, the present state of knowledge
on the impact of aviation, shipping and road traffic on climate and
environment will be summarised by world-leading experts. In a second part,
policymakers are given the opportunity to pose questions, and a discussion
will take place.
The event will be opened by Tineke Huizinga, State Secretary of the Dutch
Ministry for Transport, Public Works and Water Management, high-ranking
representatives of the Bundesminsterium für Umwelt, Naturschutz und
Reaktorsicherheit, and the European Commission.
Participation is free for Netherlands, German and Belgian governmental
policymakers. For other policymakers, the participation fee is 20 euros.
You can register by filling in and faxing the registration form (download
in DOC or
PDF format).
Deadline for registration: 1 June 2009.
