The TAC-3 conference will take place at the
Yachthotel Chiemsee. Special rates for lodging at the Yachthotel are available until 25th of April. Single room incl breakfast 99 Euros, double room incl breakfasts 137 Euros. From Monday to Wednesday dinner is covered by the conference fee. If you arrive on Sunday and want to have Dinner at the hotel, please check the box "half board 24th of June".
The conference starts around 9am on Monday. So we suggest to arrive on Sunday and register sunday afternoon. Room reservationPlease use the provided PDF-Form. The nearest airports are: From Munich airport take the S-Bahn to Munich East (line S8). From there trains go to Prien (1 hour, direction Salzburg). From Salzburg airport take the bus to Salzburg Central Station. From there trains go to Prien (40 min, direction Rosenheim/Munich). Connections can be searched on the website of the German railway company www.bahn.de or the Austrian railway company www.oebb.at (if you travel via Salzburg). As an example, screenshots of connection requests for Sunday 24th of June afternoon can be found for Munich to Prien and for Salzburg to Prien . You can modify the settings according to your arrival time at the airport. The price for a single ticket is about 20 Euros for Munich Airport to Prien and 16 Euros for Salzburg Central Station to Prien. An inexpensive alternative is the "Bayernticket" which is valid for all regional trains (denoted as RE, RB, IRE, S-Bahn, excluded are D, EC and ICE) in Bavaria and also public transportation in Munich (MVG). The day pass for one person (Bayernticket Single) is 20 Euros. With the standard Bayernticket (30 Euros) up to five persons can travel. Note that Monday to Friday the ticket is valid from 9am on only. Saturday and Sunday there are no restrictions on travel time. More Information can be found be here. Since Salzburg is close to the Austrian-German border the Bayernticket is also valid for connections to/from Salzburg Central Station.The Yachhotel Chiemsee is 2.5km away from the train station Prien. Taxi and shuttle service will be available. Information on the shuttle service will follow. Bus shuttle airport Munich - conference hotelIn short: Sunday afternoon buses from Munich airport to the conference hotel.On Thursday buses leave at 4pm, estimated arrival time at the airport earlier than 6pm (no warranty, however very likely according to the bus company). We expect most participants to arrive on Sunday. Most likely we can offer two connections probably around 1pm and 3pm on this day. Similarly, Thursday afternoon one or two transfers are planned. The earliest bus departure on Thursday is 4pm. The bus ride is supposed to take less than two hours. So you may catch flights departing later than 7:30pm, however we cannot give any warranty. The times will be adjusted to the arrival/departure times of your flights, especially on Sunday. If you are interested in using the bus shuttle, please write an email to Simon Unterstrasser with your estimated arrival/departure times at the airport and whether you want to make use of it on Sunday and/or Thursday. The bus shuttle is not covered by the conference fee. The one-way ticket is 30 euros which has to be paid in cash at the conference. For your convenience it is not necessary to pay it in the bus upon arrival.
