DIARY - 2nd October 2012
Yesterday, the integration of the measurement devices has started. All systems were working well in the lab. Today, October 2nd, 13 UTC we had a Kick-Off briefing. Here are the latest news:
- The integration is in progress and works as scheduled.All measurement racks are integrated and partially wired. The underwing Polarnephelometer is mounted. On Thursday the integration will be continued and an instrument test is planned.
- Thursday 15 LT the operators meet at the aircraft to discuss the integration status and the EMV (electromagnetic compatibility) test that is planned for Friday morning.
- Permission status is different for the many European countries. Most nations require a notice 2 days in advance. A detailed summary will be prepared for the flight planning group.
- The pilots are Roland Welser and Michael Großrubatscher. Flights on weekends are possible. An early announcement is desired. On the DLR open day flights are possible in case of a very promising meteorological situation.
- The daily general briefing will be held in the HALO Hangar (Room 101, 1st floor).
- Information is distributed via email and via the campaign webpage showing the upcoming plans and dates.
- If power on the aircraft is required outside the standard opening hours (Mo-Thu 7-1630 LT, Fri 7-1430 LT) of the Hangar staff an announcement should be made 2 days in advance
- Tracking of the Falcon is requested with a position email every 5 minutes
