The DLR research aircraft Dassault Falcon 20-E5 will be the primary observational platform. The aircraft is operated from its base airport in Oberpfaffenhofen (Germany). The well experienced airborne platform for atmospheric research was deployed during several field campaigns over Southern Europe. The latest experiment in this SW European area was the Convective and Orographically induced Precipitation study (COPS) in 2007 with successful dropsonde observations over Southern Europe.
