Participants of ERAD 2014 at Ettal Monastery on 3 September 2014 (5.5Mb).
ERAD2014 continued the successful series of the European Conference on Radar in Meteorology and Hydrology that started in Bologna in the year 2000.
370 Participants from 40 countries did join ERAD2014. 115 talks (including 5 keynotes) and 256 posters were presented during the week. 161 extended abstracts have been uploaded so far.
Next ERAD will take place in Antalya (Turkey) in October 2016
The mission of ERAD is to:
- provide a platform for exchange between students, research scientists, radar operators and
end users of weather radar
- provide a platform to transfer knowledge from research into operational use
(and vice versa) of weather radar
ERAD2014 will focus on the following topics:
• Advances in weather radar technology and signal processing |
• Data quality and calibration |
• Microphysics of cloud and precipitation |
• Progress in QPE and error structure analysis |
• Hydrological studies employing weather radars |
• Mesoscale and Severe weather studies |
• Nowcasting techniques |
• Radar networking |
• Synergetic use of weather radar and other sensors |
• Use of weather radars in NWP systems |
• Weather Radars for Air Traffic Management |
• Non meteorological uses of weather radar |
• Millimeter-wave cloud radars |
• Airborne and spaceborne radars |
