Campaign diary on 20 September 2008

We are planning the final mission for Sinlaku tomorrow, some say funeral mission as it does not really seem to have much downstream impact, it's rather dieing away. The forecast for tomorrow doesn't look as great as yesterday any more, I somehow think the forecast yesterday could be just the result of too many dropsondes in the storm. Today the remaining system is much weaker, based on todays forecast I could have a nice time in Tokyo now. Nevertheless, the system is still exciting, but we are a bit afraight that we might have to cancel in the morning. A complicated morning cancellation procedure is layed out for the mission to minimize the the number of people getting up invain. Sarah does not really seem to look forward to deliver such news in the morning, but will take over the job if necessary.
