Campaign diary on 30 September 2008

The missions today were successful overall, but from a lidar perspective, the first one was quite disappointing. In the forecasts and on the satellite images before take-off conditions looked very favourable, but then a malicious cirrus moved into our track over Korea and the Japanese Sea. The second mission up to the north was better at least

We're planning the final mission for tomorrow and after all these long days here, it also time to come to an end. Of course, for science we would not mind more data and things have been working so well in the last days that it's a pitty to stop after bringing flight planning in Japan to perfection - at least concerning Frank's flight planning capability with hundreds of restricted military training areas. I'm sure we'll miss the excitement!
