The International Conference on Alpine Meteorology (ICAM)
had its 30th realisation from 11-15 May 2009 in the spacious and nicely situated
Badner Halle close to the city centre of Rastatt, Germany. Its situation
in the Rhine valley close to the slopes of the Black Forest is depicted
on the ICAM-2009 poster (click pdf-file
in A3-format).
The ICAM series started 1950 in Italy. Germany acted as host country in 1958 (Garmisch),
1970 (Oberstdorf), 1982 (Berchtesgaden) and 1994 (Lindau). In conjunction with the Mountain
Meteorology Conferences of the American Meteorological Society ICAM is providing a truly
intercontinental forum for a large variety of issues dealing with weather and climate in
mountainous regions. More details about the development of ICAM over nearly six decades are given

This web-site was gradually filled with all information regarding
ICAM-2009. Its is somewhat expanded with additional material and will be conserved for future reference.
An international Organisation and
Programme Committee structured
the submitted abstracts into a balanced sequence of short oral presentations to the plenary
and in-depth discussions during extended sessions at posters, which were on display
for the entire duration of ICAM-2009.
All interested scientists were invited to attend the event in order to
present and discuss their latest research results.
We are happy indeed for having met many of you in Rastatt.
