ECMWF forecasts

Deterministic forecasts are prepared with the ECMWF T511/L60 model up to 156 hours ahead in time. Prepared by Andreas Dörnbrack of DLR.

Parameters forecasted are:

Sea level pressure
Low level clouds (>800 hPa)
Medium level clouds (800...400 hPa)
High level clouds (<400 hPa)
Cloud ice water content at different pressure levels
Relative humidity at different pressure levels
Temperature at different pressure levels
Geopotential and wind at different pressure levels
Vertical cross sections (North-South and East-West).
Representation of Schmidt-Appleman criterion in terms of fields of critical temperature on different pressure levels.

MPI-C-MATCH chemical forecasts

Chemical forecasts are prepared with the MPI-C-MATCH model by Mark Lawrence and Tim Butler, MPI-C. The forecasts compute the global 3D distributions of a wide array of gases; daily plots are made automatically for the global distributions of key gases at the surface and selected pressure levels.
