As a well-suited extension to the SouthTRAC campaign, the DLR Institute of Atmospheric Physics launched a soaring campaign in cooperation with glider pilot Klaus Ohlmann, following earlier activities within the Mountain Wave Project, to explore the properties of the mountain waves generated by the Andes. The glider campaign is based in El Calafate.
